Might as well introduce myself now XD

I'm Amanda, and this is going to be my first time participating in NaNoWriMo. I heard about it sometime during the summer, and I've been excited to do it ever since.

My Grandpa just passed away last Thursday, so I'm going to dedicate the novel that I (hopefully) write to him. I was really close to him and took his death hard, so I'm hoping that NaNo will help take my mind off things and help me cope.

Anyways, I'm looking foreward to meeting everybody, and I wish everybody tons of luck for next month

Sorry to hear about your grandfather. I did NaNo last year, and if your experience will be anything like mine was, you might just be thinking about your novel all the time come November. :-)

My condolences on the loss of your grandfather, Amanda. I wish you the best of luck on your first NaNo novel. If it's anything like mine, it will be an experience you won't likely forget! Last year was my first participating in NaNo. I enjoyed it so much (even if I didn't make it to 50,000) I came back for a second round of abuse to my sanity. :)

I'm sorry about your grandfather...

My dad passed away near the end of last November, and for a while I thought I wouldn't be able to finish my novel. but I kinda just pushed on in a vague attempt to try to feel normal again, and it ended up being the first time I got to the 50k mark- last year was my third year. For me, writing didn't really take my mind off of it, but it did help me get through the situation.

I wish you much luck in nanoing, and much sympathy to you and your family.

Like everyone else, sorry about your grandfather. But just think, since you want to dedicate it to him don't jsut say you hope to do it, tell yourself you will. If anything it will be the motivation that you want to dedicate it to him, that will help you cross the finish line at the end of November. =) *hugs*
